I was born on January 7, 1964, in Tacoma, Washington, the 7th and last child in a mixed family. I accepted Christ in 1969 and in 1971, at age 7, I was baptized. I felt called to be a pastor when I was 8, and this was reaffirmed at church camp when I was 14. I ministered in various capacities as a volunteer for many years, including as a youth minister, worship leader, college group leader, Sunday school and AWANA, etc. I moved to Idaho in 1989 and married Kristi (who was raised in Star) on September 7, 1991. In 2005 I was asked to be the part-time lead pastor at Christian Life Fellowship Boise (where we had been attending for 11 years), and in 2010 I was moved to full-time. I continued to serve there as the pastor through October of 2021.
Kristi and I had been unable to conceive or adopt, and we assumed God’s plan was for us to be childless. But then, in June of 2011 (nearly 20 years into our marriage), I received an email regarding a young local woman who had gone to get an abortion but was turned away because she was too far along under Idaho law. She was looking for someone who would be willing to adopt her soon-to-be-born son. Kristi and I were thrilled to volunteer. Our son, Josiah Scott Guinn, was born in October of 2011. The hospital gave us a room just down the hall from the birthmother. Josiah spent his first night in our room and we took him home the next day. The adoption was finalized just two months later.
I love God, God’s Word, and God’s people, and I am thrilled to be able to minister to His flock at Lakeview.

I grew up in El Salvador, Central America, where my parents were missionaries. I accepted Jesus as my Savior while a youngster, and developed an interest in mission aviation during high school. I earned a B.A degree in History at San Jose State College before joining the U.S. Air Force, where I served five years, flying jet transports worldwide. Later, to better serve with Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF), I earned my Aircraft Mechanic’s (A&P) license. I was also a commercial pilot with an instrument flight instructor, and an airline transport pilot rating.
I served with MAF in Honduras, Guatemala, Ecuador, and finally at MAF’s headquarters in Nampa, ID. While overseas I had helped provide transportation for missionaries, evangelists, doctors, and relief workers. The joy of flying, and a desire to help hurting people hear of God’s love, took me on more than 15,000 MAF flights. My wife Renee and I finished 32 years by serving as hosts at MAF’s guest housing here in Nampa. We welcomed and encouraged MAF families who were coming and going to cross-cultural ministry. We have been blessed to be part of the Lakeview Bible Church family during our time in Nampa.

I have the opportunity to serve as the Creative Arts Assistant at Lakeview Bible Church, as well as lead in the Kids’ Ministry on a monthly basis. Since I was young, I’ve had a heart for kids and a love for creating. I was born and raised in Idaho and graduated from the University of Idaho with a bachelor degree in Education.
In 2012, I married my high school sweetheart and we are raising three wonderful boys on an alfalfa farm in Murphy, Idaho. It is our deepest desire to glorify God as we train our children, serve our church body and love others.
When I’m not chasing kids, I enjoy DIY projects, thrift shopping and tractor rides with my hubby.

My wife Kate and I moved from Australia to the USA for work, with our 2 little girls, in August 1997. What was meant to be an adventure of no more than 10 years turned permanent in September 2010 when we all became US citizens.
Prior to my retirement in March 2017 I was involved in computer programming for almost 40 years. After much prayer and consideration Kate and I moved to Nampa from northern California in August 2020. We came to Lakeview Bible Church in December of that year and became members a few months later.
I have always found it to be a blessing to serve in church in whatever capacity I could and was pleased to accept the position of Deacon in 2020.

My wife and I are both Idaho born and raised. We were high school sweethearts and have been married for 26 years. God has blessed us with 3 beautiful children, our oldest of whom is married and has given us our first grandchild. Our second oldest is engaged and we are excited to see what God has planned for his life. Our youngest is in 7th grade at Nampa Christian Middle School.
I have been part of Lakeview Bible Church my entire life. My dad has served on the elder board previously and I consider it an honor to serve the Lord while following in his footsteps. My hearts desire is to follow Gods plan for my life and to be a Godly example to my family and those around me. I look forward to serving together at Lakeview and seeing what God has planned for the future of our church.

I started attending Lakeview Bible Church in 2012 with my wife Denise. We attended classes and worship services for a while then became members of this body of believers.
I taught an adult class on Sundays for a several years. Then asked to train and lead an in-depth study on the weekly sermon. As the in-depth sermon study was phased out my small group evolved into a study group of the Bible, related books, and video courses lasting until Covid19 shut down.
I accepted the position of Deacon in 2015 to assist the Elders for the care of our church body. This included home and hospital visits, calls to visitors, and administering of Care/Share fund for member requests. I was the Deacon Chairman from 2021 – 2023.
